For Whom the Bell Tolls

Wow…someone upstairs has been working overtime the last 24 hours…

"Dandelions don't tell no lies..."

Phil Spector convicted of murder. Can we add “wanton teasing of hair”? Next time he hears the words “Be My Baby” they might have a whole different meaning. You figure he had to be feeling pretty confident going up against the LA prosecutor’s office after the O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake trials, but now the prosecutors have raised their celebrity batting average to .333

Harry Kalas, great sportscaster, dies in the booth before the Phillies/Nationals game. True icon of baseball, beloved by Philly guys (Marah even used his voice on an album) and many of you have probably heard his voice-overs without realizing who it was. I have too much respect (and fear of retaliation from Philly fans) to make a cheap crack about him escaping the boredom of a Nationals game. Besides, Phillyfan will come up with something better.

Mark “The Bird” Fidrych dies, ironically working the soil. Classic Bird: “That ball has a hit in it, so I want to get back in the ball bag and goof around with the other balls in there. Maybe it’ll learn some sense and come out as a pop-up next time.” One of the true characters of the game, a throwback to old times. I talk to inanimate objects all the time, but I’m nuts.

Marilyn Chambers…100% gone years after being 99 44/100 % pure. If you want to go deeper into her history you’ll have to do that on your own.

Watch your back, people…bad things come in fives.
